Hundreds of pieces of folded and sewn paper
CloudForm presents the viewer with a
visual array that plays with our understanding and perception of a phenomena in
our natural world, the cloud. From the ground, we see clouds as light fluffy
objects that dance across a blue sky, or the menacing dark grey volumes that
indicate a storm. This long distance aerial view does not begin to reveal to us
what a cloud is actually composed of, ice crystals and water droplets. CloudForm presents this micro view of
the cloud structure, crystalline droplets being played upon by light. The light
plays with the natural opacity of the velum from which the droplets are
constructed, creating layers upon layers of cast shadows.
