Re:Fabricate begins with the basic t-shirt in your closet. This participatory community project deconstructs and reconstructs the ubiquitous t-shirt, challenging us to consider the labor and waste imbedded in our world of fast fashion consumption.
Re:Fabricate - Yardage
Yardage invites members of the community to observe or become part of the community workforce and work alongside the artist to dissemble donated t-shirts, cut the fabric into uniform widths to be sew together. This process returns the t-shirts to a raw material, a bolt of fabric ready to become something new.

Re:Fabricate - Small World Tees
Small World Tees invites the community to explore the Small World Tees fReETAIL Shop and learn more about the t-shirts that were donated, inventoried, folded, and packaged onsite during the month of February. While you’re there, be sure to take a re-packaged t-shirt home.
Feb 23 from Noon to 6PM
Feb 24 from Noon to 6PM
If you have clean t-shirts available for raw material, bag them up, and include the zip code that they are coming from. Drop off donations at the MSU Broad Art Lab February 9–17 during our open hours.
